Uganda — Steve’s email

Our team had a meeting last night to talk about getting to the airport,  2 weeks before we go stuff. Steve sent out an email to the team this morning with this information:

The current 5 day weather forecast
Today 88  Humidity 18%-30%
Friday 91
Sat 91
Sun 90
Mon 93
Lows each night of 66-70.
Below is my handy dandy conversion chart
Money-  $1.00 US exchanges for 2500 Ugandan shillings
Distance- One kilometer is .62 miles. The trip from Kampala to Gulu is 320km, or 200 miles
Temperature-How to translate centigrade (what they use) to Fahrenheit
Multiply the current C temp by 9/5 (1.80) then add 32. This is the “official” method.
I’ll ask my friend Randy for his simple method to confirm, but I’ll outline it below.
The C temp is 25 degrees. Multiply x 2 =50. Subtract 10% of 50 (5) to arrive at 45. then add 32 to reach 77 degrees F
If the C temp is 30. Multiply x 2 = 60. Subtract 10% (6) to arrive at 54, then add 32 for a F temp of  87.

That’s my husband–comprehensive, direct and to the point — maybe it’s just a guy thing. I have to say I told you so about the whole temperature conversion thing. I liked the way he covered all the bases–money, distance and temperature. I’m way excited about the forecast!

About praysehim

I am the wife of Steve, mother of Alex and Jayme, a graduate of University of Northern Iowa. My previous work experiences include teaching 7th grade English and Math, direct marketing for an insurance company, being stay at home mom and girls basketball coach, and preparing taxes. I now serve as the "prayer lady" at Grimes UMC. I plan to live to be as old as Noah because I refuse to think of myself as middle aged.
