We have received confirmation that we will be working on a classroom in Project Gulu. I’m not sure if their construction methods have changed since we were there in 2005 but I thought I’d give you a visual of our project from 2005. In 2005 the construction materials were cement, handmade blocks and steel. No wood is used in the buildings because of termites. Driving to the work site each day, we passed termite mounds that were over 5 feet in height!

The roof was put in place after we left. We hope to visit this village this year to see the finished project. The challenge will be to identify our building among the many changes that are sure to happen in 7 years. We’ll just have to look closely to find the plaque they had made with this inscription:
And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. Matthew 18:5
